  • 🚢 Carnival Cruise Line recently partnered with #Intercruises to welcome 20 young talents for their first-ever FUNternship program! Running from June to August, the program offered high school seniors a paid summer internship and a hands-on introduction to the cruise industry. This incredible initiative offers mentorship, practical experience, and a fun way to learn! 🌟 The students were hired as seasonal, part-time Intercruises staff and worked alongside experienced team members from both Intercruises and Carnival in roles ranging from check-in to directional support across Carnival’s homeports in Baltimore, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Manhattan, and Tampa. Intercruises proudly supported the program through the full recruitment and onboarding process - from job postings and application reviews to interviews, scheduling, and training coordination. Jackie Harris, Manager of Operations Support, Training & Recruitment for the USA & Canada at Intercruises, shared: “It was so fulfilling to see this first batch of interns start work! I was incredibly proud of them. What a joy to see their happy faces and how enthusiastic they were!” 🎉 Huge thanks to Jackie for leading the way and to the Intercruises Port Delivery Managers Debra Howard, Lisa Wolf, Karen Burley and Oksana Shevchenko and the Recruitment Team Eszter Jeannot-Udvardi, Maria Baksh and Ithier Walma for their invaluable support.   • On Tuesday, 8 July, #Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services welcomed The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection´s Ilma to Portsmouth International Port for its first-ever turnaround in the UK. Our team was on hand to provide transfers and all guest services for the delightful guests beginning or ending their voyage.   ✨The Ilma, meaning “water” in Maltese, is a luxury yacht from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, designed to deliver an unforgettable cruising experience. Ilma offers spacious suites, each with a private terrace, world-class dining, a full-service spa, and an aft marina for direct access to the sea with a wide selection of water toys.   • Last Saturday, #Intercruises attended the Key Suppliers & Stakeholders Summit in Marseille, France, held aboard the luxurious MSC World Europa - a top-rated, multiple award-winning cruise ship. MSC Cruises pulled out all the stops, bringing together an impressive group of attendees, including local authorities, educational institutions, trade associations, transportation suppliers, guides, key venues, and more.   So of course, we sent in our star team! Representing Intercruises were Virginia Quintairos, Global Business Development Director, and Teresa Hölzl, Global Key Account Manager. Joining from our Marseille office were Sami Ezzeddine, Operations & Port Delivery Team Manager France & Monaco; Armine Essafi, Operations & Port Delivery Team Leader; and Nicolas SALLIER, Operations & Port Delivery Manager.   This get-together is part of MSC Cruises’ commitment to the industry’s broader call to action to support and engage local communities - and a chance to truly walk the talk. The day began with networking, followed by lunch on board and a guided ship tour. Discussions covered responsible tourism, sustainability, and community engagement - and we had plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas and explore new initiatives with the attendees.   We’re proud to be the eyes and ears of our partners in the destination and honored to contribute to turning local community engagement into reality. On the day, we presented ideas on improving visitor flow, supporting local businesses and employment, and diversifying the excursion portfolio. We also operated three electric shuttle buses throughout the day - an initiative in partnership with MSC.   A big thank you to Jon Olav Stedje, Marialuisa Iaccarino, Svetlana Cuk, and Tatiana Alcindo of MSC Cruises for inviting and involving us in such a meaningful event.   • River Cruise Europe, another association Intercruises is proud to be part of, hosted its annual Members’ Meeting in Marseille, in the beautiful South of France. The event brought together 50 members, along with around 20 representatives from local authorities. River Cruise Europe is a leading association that brings together operators and stakeholders across Europe to promote sustainable growth, collaboration, and innovation within the river cruise industry. Notably, Kim Donkers, Destination Manager BeNeLux & Nordics at #Intercruises, sits on the board as Treasurer of this community. Simon O'Sullivan, Head of Balkans, Italy & Northern Europe Operations & Delivery, and Sami Ezzeddine, Operations & Port Delivery Team Manager France & Monaco, attended the enjoyable and informative event in Marseille. Participants had a relaxed start with inspiring excursions around Provence - from the elegant Aix-en-Provence and historic Arles, to tastings of Provençal delights such as oysters, and visits to olive groves and vineyards. The day concluded with dinner at the Musée Regards de Provence, known for its stunning panoramic views of Marseille’s seafront. Intercruises was pleased to co-sponsor the dinner! The next day was packed with discussions on river cruise industry topics such as infrastructure, facilities, sustainability, regulations, safety, and key routes, all with a focus on fostering practical collaboration and finding ways to improve. The event wrapped up with a walking tour through the ancient alleyways of Marseille, where participants learned from local experts about the time-honored techniques and ingredients behind tapenade, the traditional Provençal apéritif, followed by a tasting accompanied by a glass of rosé wine. It was a fantastic couple of days filled with meaningful discussions, and the chance to explore the many charms of this breathtaking destination!

  • Huge thanks to MedCruise for hosting an incredible 66th General Assembly last week in Cartagena, Spain!   #Intercruises was represented by Deborah Louise Vega, Global Key Account Manager, and Virginia Quintairos, Global Business Development Director. It was an action-packed three days full of great conversations, where MedCruise members had the chance to dive into truly important topics, such as innovations in sustainable cruising, evolving cruise passenger expectations, the future of destination services and the role of AI, and more.   In addition to the insightful sessions, the agenda was well-rounded with entertaining moments throughout! The themed gala dinner, featuring a reenactment of the battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians, along with the underwater winery excursion, were definite fun highlights. It was the perfect mix of learning, valuable face time with industry peers and partners, and soaking up the cultural heritage of beautiful Cartagena.   We’re already looking forward to the next one!

  • Intercruises was proud to be a supporting sponsor of the 2025 Cruise Britain Summer Event, which took place last week in the lovely city of Aberdeen, on Scotland’s northeast coast.   This year marked a special occasion as the first Cruise Britain Summer Event at this destination and was an excellent showcase of Scottish hospitality!   • 👏 In support of World Environment Day, Raquel Lopez, Port Operations Director for Spain, Gibraltar & Portugal at #Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, took part in a beach cleanup at El Prat de Llobregat, near Barcelona. The initiative, led by the Port de Barcelona, brought together 21 companies from the logistics and port sectors for an intensive beach cleanup, followed by a workshop on the impact of marine litter, hosted by the Fundación CRAM.   • #Intercruises had the pleasure of attending a special Plaque Exchange Ceremony - a longstanding maritime tradition that commemorates a ship’s inaugural call to a port with the formal exchange of plaques.   The event took place onboard the Disney Fantasy during her first-ever visit to Cádiz, in the region of Andalusia, Spain, on May 15th, 2025, marking the start of her Mediterranean season after crossing the Atlantic..   Belén Madurga Hernández, Port Operations Manager - Cádiz at Intercruises, joined representatives from the Cádiz Town Hall and the Port Authority to welcome the ship and presented a plaque to Captain Damir Vukonic, and in return - instead of the traditional plaque - received a hand-drawn portrait of Mickey Mouse. It was a unique and memorable touch!   What an honor to be part of this ceremony and we look forward to many more visits from the Disney Fantasy to Cádiz in the future. 🚢✨ #ThisIsIntercruises
