We are LGBT Foundation. We believe in a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people can achieve their full potential. Our work started in 1975 and we’ve been changing the lives of LGBT people ever since. Over the last five decades we’ve provided information, services and support for LGBT people who’ve had nowhere else to turn. We’ve been at the forefront of the social and legal changes that mean LGBT people in the UK have more rights than ever before. Our work is as vital and urgent as ever. LGBT people still face persecution, discrimination and stark health inequalities. Through our services we reduce isolation amongst our communities, help people feel more confident and in control of their lives and enable people to flourish. Every year we serve 40,000 people - amplifying people’s voices, providing support and offering hope. We work in partnership with others to build strong, cohesive and influential LGBT communities and promote attitude change in society, reaching 600,00 people online each year. Together, we can secure a safe, healthy and equal future for all LGBT people. Until then, we’re here if you need us.

It was amazing to welcome Lizi from IWS South Staffordshire PLC to LGBT Foundation this week. By hosting a bake sale (brilliantly branded Inclusivitea), the team raised an incredible £1,608! 🌈 🍰 If your team could host a bake sale or take on a challenge to support LGBT Foundation, we'd love to hear from you! Last night at 10 Downing Street's Fifty & Fabulous Pride Reception, LGBT Foundation was recognised and celebrated as one of three organisations turning 50, alongside the fantastic Switchboard - National LGBTQ+ Support Line and London Friend 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🎉 In a garden of many talented sector peers advocating for equality, we heard inspiring speeches from our CEO Paul Martin OBE, Stephanie Fuller (CEO of Switchboard), Monty Moncrieff (CEO of Friend) and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. It was a momentous occasion to acknowledge how far we've all come, the challenges still ahead and our commitment to working together to create lasting, meaningful change for LGBTQIA+ communities. As the Prime Minister said, it was "not a privilege for [us] to be there, but a right" - we are hopeful that we will continue to see ourselves in spaces like this so we can make LGBTQ+ issues and voices a priority for this government's agenda. Thank you for the invitation to work alongside you and for recognising the groundbreaking work of our organisations over the last fifty years - there is still much more to come and we can achieve much more, together. Today, the UK Government have published their 10-year mission to build a National Health Service (NHS) fit for the future. As the leading national health & wellbeing charity for LGBTQ+ communities, we warmly welcome seeing that the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector will make a valuable contribution in delivering the plan. The government’s commitment to addressing waiting times within the 10-year mission is reassuring. Too many members of our community see their health and wellbeing deteriorate whilst stuck on waiting lists. LGBTQ+ patients' experiences will also improve considerably with the commitment to introduce a single patient record for the NHS. It is crucial that our healthcare providers have accurate demographic data, inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity (as non-clinical information), as this will help shape the national understanding of risk factors for ill-health. We also welcome the commitment in this plan to the use of strategic partnerships between NHS, Local Government and voluntary organisations, as a means to achieve a reduction in health inequalities. Through 50 years of experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, and frontline services which support 45,000 people each year, we know that LGBTQ+ communities face specific health inequalities which we must work in partnership to address, commissioning for inclusion. To address the structural health inequalities which LGBTQ+ people experience, we need all services working collaboratively, bringing on board the expertise of community-led organisations to ensure pride in practice, advancing inclusion.
Pride matters on every single day of the year. Pride is: A celebration. A protest. A community. Join forces with LGBT Foundation today to support your companies continued commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion. #LGBTQ #PrideMonth #Pride2025 #DEI #EDI #Equality #Inclusion

It celebrates how far we've come and the ongoing journey towards true equality. The exhibition forms part of a wider year of celebration, reflection, and action. A powerful moment this morning seeing our campaign celebrating all women splashed across the A56 at rush hour. A powerful message of solidarity at a time when people are actively trying to divide us. We have more in common than sets us apart. LGBT Foundation #thisiswhatawomanlookslike thanks to JC Decaux for this platform!
